Another favorite instrument of RoryÕs was a 1958 three-color sunburst Strat¨ that he commonly referred to as a 1957 model. Used mostly for recording, this guitar is equipped with an overwound set of custom pickups for an even but unbelievably hot tone. Now you can have these replacement pickups with a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup to defeat that 60 cycle hum.These wonderful vintage correct reproduction pickups are handmade in the USA by none other than Mr. Kent Armstrong (that's right - son of the legendary Dan Armstrong). Kent has been making pickups for all the great artists for over 40+ years... and originally studied at the side of none other than famed pickup designer Bill Lawrence, back in the early '70s! - Kent is one of the foremost pickup designers in the industry. He has hand made or modified pickups for many of the music world's greatest stars -including Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, Brian May of Queen, Jeff Beck, B.B.
